Connecting an Integration

Integrations enable Dimension to command your tools and action on your behalf. When you connect an integration to Dimension, you unlock three powerful functionalities that transform how you work.

What Connecting an Integration Enables

1. Triggers for Workflows

Set up automated workflows that activate based on specific actions within that integration. For example:

  • When a Railway deployment fails, automatically create an incident report

  • When a GitHub PR is labeled "urgent," notify your team on Slack

  • When a Linear cycle ends, generate a summary of completed work

2. AI Capabilities

Dimension gains the ability to take actions using that integration on your behalf. This means Dimension can:

  • Send emails through Gmail in your writing style

  • Create and update calendar events

  • Search and analyze data in your spreadsheets

  • Review pull requests and create GitHub issues

  • Draft and edit documents

3. Knowledge Base Indexing

For supported integrations, Dimension indexes the content within that integration, making it extremely searchable and adding it to Dimension's knowledge base. This allows Dimension AI to:

  • Answer questions based on data from that integration with high accuracy

  • Surface relevant information from across your connected tools

  • Understand context and relationships between documents, people, and projects

  • Provide intelligent suggestions based on your actual work data

Note: Not all integrations support indexing. Check the specific integration page to see which functionalities are available.

How to connect an integration

Click on the Integrations tab on your sidebar

Expand the sidebar if needed by clicking on the Dimension logo on the top left. Then, click on the Integrations tab.

You can also directly access the Integraions page at https://dimension.dev/integrations.

Select the integration you want to connect

Feel free to browse the integrations page to view the list of integrations Dimension supports. You may also search for your desired integration using the search bar. Finally, click on the Integration you wish to connect.

Click Connect

Click on the Connect button on the top right corner of the integration page to proceed with connecting the integration into Dimension.

Managing Your Integrations

After connecting an integration, you can:

  • View all connected integrations from the Integrations page

  • Disconnect or reconfigure integrations at any time

  • Monitor which capabilities are active for each integration

  • Set up workflows and triggers specific to that integration
