Integrations

Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides, Slack, GitHub, Linear, Notion, Vercel, Railway, Sentry, Stripe, Airtable, Dropbox, and Granola. You can also interact with Dimension via iMessage and Slack Bot.More integrations are coming soon, including Figma, HubSpot, PostHog, Intercom, and others.
Go to the Integrations page and click on the integration you want to connect. For Google Workspace, one connection unlocks Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Slides.
Some integrations (Gmail, Google Drive, Slack, Linear, Notion, GitHub, Airtable, Dropbox, etc.) support indexing — Dimension processes your data in the background to make it searchable across all your tools at once. You can see indexing progress on each integration’s detail page.
Go to the Integrations page, select the integration, and disconnect it. All associated data is permanently deleted.
Yes. You can connect any MCP-compatible tool. Go to Integrations, click New Integration, provide a name, description, and the MCP server URL (Streamable HTTP or SSE). If the server supports OAuth, you’ll go through an OAuth flow; otherwise, provide an API key. See Custom MCP integrations for details.
Yes. Connect iMessage (requires phone number verification) or the Slack Bot integration, and you can message Dimension directly from those apps.
Each integration shows capability tags on the Integrations page. The four capability types are:
  • Read — Pull in your data (emails, issues, messages, files, etc.)
  • Act — Take actions on your behalf (send emails, create issues, post messages)
  • Search — Your data is indexed and searchable across all tools
  • Trigger — Unlock workflow triggers (e.g., “when a new email arrives”)

Chat

Ask questions across your tools, take actions (send emails, create issues, post messages), create artifacts (presentations, spreadsheets, documents, PDFs), and handle complex multi-step tasks that span multiple tools.
For sensitive actions like sending emails, creating issues, or posting messages, Dimension pauses and asks for your approval. You can:
  • Accept — run the action as proposed
  • Reject — cancel it
  • Edit — modify the details before approving
  • Respond — give Dimension more context to adjust its approach
Go to Settings > User and enable the Auto Approve toggle. This makes all actions execute without asking first. You can also ask Dimension in chat to adjust your approval preferences.
Yes. Click the microphone button in the chat input to dictate your message. Voice is transcribed using Whisper. Available on web and desktop.
You can attach images (PNG, JPEG, WebP), PDF, DOCX, TXT, XLSX, CSV, PPTX, audio (AAC, FLAC, MP3, M4A, WAV), and video (MP4, WebM, MOV). Drag and drop files into chat or use the attachment button.
Press Cmd+K (Mac) or Ctrl+K (Windows) to search your threads by keyword.
Press Shift+Cmd+O (Mac) or Shift+Ctrl+O (Windows), or click the new chat button in the sidebar.
Dimension remembers everything within a thread. Across threads, it can search your past conversations and connected tools to find relevant context.
Yes. You can ask Dimension to change settings directly in chat — things like notification preferences, approval settings, and proactive features.

Artifacts

Presentations, Spreadsheets, Documents, and PDF Documents.
Artifact typeExport formats
PresentationsPPTX, PDF, Google Slides, Dropbox
SpreadsheetsXLSX, Google Sheets, Dropbox
DocumentsPDF, DOCX, Google Docs, Dropbox
PDF DocumentsPDF
Yes. Ask Dimension to revise it in the same thread — e.g., “Change slide 3 to focus on revenue growth” or “Add a new sheet with monthly totals.”
Yes. You can share any artifact via a public link. Anyone with the link can view it without a Dimension account. You can also share an entire thread’s artifacts at once via a shared thread link.
All artifacts are saved to your Library automatically, where you can browse, search, and favorite them.

Workflows

Go to the Workflows page and create one, or ask Dimension in chat — e.g., “Create a workflow that summarizes my emails every morning.”
  • Scheduled — Run at set times (daily, weekdays, weekly, or custom cron schedule)
  • Triggered — Run automatically when an event happens in a connected tool
IntegrationTriggers
GmailNew email (filterable by label)
SlackNew DM, new message in a channel
Google CalendarBefore or after a calendar event
VercelDeployment succeeded/failed (filterable by project and environment)
LinearCycle started/ended, issue created (filterable by team)
GitHubPR opened (filterable by repo)
AirtableNew records added (filterable by base and table)
Google SheetsNew rows added (filterable by spreadsheet and sheet)
StripeCustomer created, invoice paid/failed, payment succeeded, checkout completed
Each workflow has an approval toggle. When set to Ask for approval, Dimension pauses before taking sensitive actions. When set to Auto approve, the workflow runs fully automatically without asking.
Results are delivered via your preferred communication channel (Gmail, Slack, iMessage, or Mobile Notifications). Change this in Settings > User > Preferred Mode of Communication. You can also specify a destination in the workflow prompt — e.g., “…and post the summary in #general on Slack.”
A library of pre-built workflows organized by role (Engineering, Product, Marketing, Sales, etc.). You can install and customize them, or publish your own workflows for others to use.
Yes. You can share a workflow via a unique link without submitting it to the public Marketplace.

Skills

Skills are reusable instructions that teach Dimension how to handle tasks your way. They can be simple rules (e.g., “always sign off emails with just my first name”) or deep knowledge learned by researching your data. Unlike workflows, skills are used on-demand during chat.
When you create a skill with a learning prompt (e.g., “Learn how our fund evaluates investments from our Google Drive memos”), Dimension researches your data, builds knowledge, and saves a summary. After each run, use the Learn section to give feedback and refine the skill’s behavior over time.
Dimension automatically selects the most relevant skill based on your request. You can also ask for a specific skill directly in chat.
Yes. Browse the Skills Marketplace for pre-built skills organized by role. You can install them directly, or install and trigger learning immediately.
Yes. You can submit a skill for review. Once approved, it appears in the Marketplace for others to install.

Proactive features

Automated features that work behind the scenes without you having to ask. There are six, and you can toggle each one individually in Settings > Preference > Background Agents:
  • Action Items — Detects urgent tasks from your tools
  • Evening Recap — End-of-day summary
  • Morning Briefing — Start-of-day overview
  • Email Tagging — Auto-categorizes your Gmail
  • Email Auto-Drafting — Generates draft replies
  • Meeting Prep — Briefing notes before meetings
Dimension prepares it around 5 AM your local time and notifies you around 8 AM. It appears on your home screen when you open the app.
Your schedule for the day, weather, emails and Slack messages needing attention, GitHub PR activity, and Linear status. It also includes suggested replies for emails and Slack messages you can send directly.
Part of the Morning Briefing with three tabs:
  • Slack — Unread DMs with suggested replies
  • Gmail — Unread emails with draft replies
  • Meetings — Upcoming meetings with prep notes
Each tab shows a dot indicator when there are items to review.
Dimension automatically labels your emails in Gmail with 10 categories: Urgent, Action Needed, Follow Up, Awaiting Reply, Meeting, FYI, Done, Payment, Newsletter, and Marketing. Labels appear numbered in Gmail (e.g., “1: urgent”) for easy ordering. When you reply to an email, it gets re-tagged automatically.
Go to Settings > Preference > Background Agents and toggle off Email Tagging.
Go to Settings > Preference > Background Agents and toggle off Email Auto-Drafting.
Go to Settings > Preference > Background Agents and toggle off Morning Briefing.
Dimension generates prep notes when your calendar syncs and refreshes them approximately 20 minutes before each meeting.
Around 7 PM your local time. It summarizes your day — meetings, emails, code changes, and tickets. If Dimension knows your personal context (partner, hobbies, city from your Background), it may include personalized recommendations like nearby restaurants or events.
New calendar invites, incoming emails, GitHub PR review requests, Linear issue assignments, priority escalations, and mentions in Linear comments.
You can teach Dimension your tone by creating a skill that describes how you write. You can also set your background in Settings > User > Background to give Dimension more context about you.
Dimension creates a background thread and works through the task on its own. You’ll get notified when it’s done, or if it needs your input to continue.

Notifications

Go to Settings > User > Preferred Mode of Communication and choose Gmail, Slack, iMessage, or Mobile Notifications.
You need to connect the Slack Bot integration first (for Slack) or verify your phone number via the iMessage integration (for iMessage). Mobile Notifications require opening the iOS app at least once to register a push token.
Yes. Install the iOS app and open it at least once. Then select Mobile Notifications in Settings > User > Preferred Mode of Communication.
Go to Settings > Preference > Sound and choose Always play sound, Only when tab is not focused, or Mute.
Go to Settings > User > Preferred Mode of Communication and switch to Slack, iMessage, or Mobile Notifications instead of Gmail.

Privacy & security

No. Dimension never trains AI models on your data, never sells your information, and never shares it with third parties.
All data associated with that integration is permanently and completely deleted, including indexed content.
Dimension cancels your subscription, removes all billing records, disconnects all integrations, deletes all indexed data, conversations, and user records. This is permanent and irreversible.
Dimension is CASA Tier 2 certified and has been third-party penetration tested by independent security researchers. SOC 2 and GDPR certifications are underway.
No. Payments are handled entirely by Stripe. Dimension never stores payment information.
Yes. All data is protected with enterprise-grade encryption in transit and at rest. OAuth tokens are stored securely and are not accessible to Dimension personnel.

Email preferences

Go to Settings > Preference > Email Preferences and toggle off Promotional Emails.
Go to Settings > Preference > Email Preferences and toggle off Product Updates.

Troubleshooting

Indexing happens in the background and can take time depending on the volume of data. Check progress on the integration’s detail page on the Integrations page.
Make sure the integration is connected and active on the Integrations page. For workflows, ensure the relevant integration is selected in the workflow’s integrations list.
After 14 days of inactivity, Dimension sends a warning email with a 3-day grace period. If you don’t return, your workflows are paused. They automatically resume when you come back.
Email support@dimension.dev, or ask Dimension in chat to file a support ticket for you.
